Workers from Bobov Dol Mine Staged Another Protest over Unpaid Wages

Miners at Bobov Dol mine staged a protest over unpaid wages and food vouchers. Some 200 workers gathered at the head office of the company in the morning on 12^th of May.

The protest started last night, 11^th of May and continued today. This morning, the miners did not go underground because of delayed wages and food vouchers for more than two months.

The protest ended around midday following a meeting with the management of the mine, trade unions, district governor and the mayor of Bobov Dol town. It emerged from the meeting that half of the March wages and the food vouchers would be paid on 12^th of May. The workers went into the mine to finish their shift.

In October, 2016, over 100 miners from Babinio mine of Bobov Dol mining complex did not come out of their shift for more than 24 hours to protest over unpaid and delayed wages.
