United Patriots Received Support by the President for Coalition Government
We will make efforts by the end of the month to have a fully signed coalition agreement, Valeri Simeonov, the leader of the Patriotic Front (a constituent party of the United Patriots alliance) said on 24th of April after the consultations of the United Patriots with the President prior to handing a mandate for forming a government.
Valeri Simeonov, Co-Chair of the United Patriots: The President understands the responsibility we are taking. He said that, having read our programme and strategic priorities by 2021, he supported our platform. He wished us stability. He said that we could rely on the presidential institution in any useful initiative for Bulgaria.
Ataka leader Volen Siderov said that for the first time patriotic formations received a positive assessment by the president for being European nationalist organizations.
Krassimir Karakachanov, a co-chair of the United Patriots said they familiarized the President with their ambitions for a full term in office.
Krassimir Karakachanov, Co-President of the United Patriots: Our main goals are to create a stable government to stay in place for the 4-year term of office. We have familiarized the President that our ambition is a full mandate in order to implement the measures.
The Patriots are seeking solutions to important issues such as the demographic crisis in all its dimensions, internal security, the state of the Bulgarian army, income and economic development, the sovereignty of the Republic of Bulgaria, and intercepting the attemps for interference in its policy, he added.
Karakachanov expressed hope that the government and the President would work hand in hand.
