Tourism Minister hopes more tourists will visit Bulgaria in July and August

Speaking after a meeting with representatives of tourism sector and local government in Stara Zagora on July 2, Bulgaria’s Minister of Tourism, Angelina Angelkova, said that she hopes in July and August travel will resume and that Bulgaria will be visited by more tourists not only on the Black Sea coast, but inland as well.

Angelkova stressed that the decision of the European Commission is expected on travel of tourists from Russia, Ukraine, Moldova and Israel, because to us they are important markets.

"For me, it is important that what we take as measures to really enable us to realize the tourist season. We will be able to report what it will be, especially when we talk about summer tourism at the end of September and October. You can see that the first charter flights have started. What we have as feedback from tour operators and airlines operating in the market in Bulgaria is that they are fulfilling their flight programme. I hope this will continue, mainly tourists from Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, will start arriving in early July, as well as Polish, Czech tourists and from Slovakia. We expect tourists from the Scandinavian countries as well," said the Minister of Tourism.
