An expert commission will review and assess the damage in Maritsa East 2 TPP after the fire which broke out yesterday, 24th of June and cause the chimney of the sulfur-purifying installation of the 8th block. No one has been injured, but the damages were for hundreds of thousands of BGN.
The Regional Inspectorate of Environment and Water said it measured the air quality and identified no exceedances of the norms.
Bulgaria’s Minister of Energy, Temenuzhka Petkova, assured the incident will not affect the security of the energy system.
An investigation was initiated by the National Investigation Service assigned by the Prosecutor’s office.
