Prime Minister Borissov met with the Chief Prosecutor of Turkey

Terrorist threats, the fight against organised crime and international cooperation in criminal matters were discussed by Prime Minister Boyko Borisov and Turkey's Chief Prosecutor Mehmet Akarca, who is on a visit to Sofia on 25th of March at the invitation of his Bulgarian counterpart, Sotir Tsatsarov.

The prime minister stressed that besides being Bulgaria’s immediate neighbour, Turkey is also an important partner in the area of migration and the fight against terrorism. He pointed out that due to the signed agreement with Turkey, there are no migrant pressures at the border.

Borissov recalled that since the European Union-Turkey meeting a year ago in Varna, the relations between Ankara and Brussels are developing in a positive direction. The Chief Prosecutor Sotir Tsatsarov also attended the meeting in the Council of Ministers.
