President Radev convenes consultative meeting on relations with North Macedonia

Bulgaria’s President Rumen Radev is convening a consultative meeting on bilateral relations with the Republic of North Macedonia and the expected invitation from the EU for the start of membership negotiations, the Head of State’s press office announced on September 27.

The meeting will be held on Monday, September 30, at 9.30 am in the Presidency with the subject: Review of the bilateral relations between the Republic of Bulgaria and the Republic of North Macedonia in the context of the results of the work of the Joint Multidisciplinary Expert Committee on Historical and Educational Affairs and the expected invitation to the Republic of North Macedonia to accede to the European Union.

Parliament Speaker Tsveta Karayancheva, Prime Minister Boyko Borissov, Deputy Prime Minister for Justice Reform and Foreign Minister Ekaterina Zaharieva, chairpersons of parliamentary groups, chairpersons of the Pareliament's Committee on Foreign Policy and the Committee on European Affairs and Control on the European Funds, as well as the Chairperson of the Joint Multidisciplinary Expert Committee on Historical and Educational Affairs between the Republic of Bulgaria and the Republic of North Macedonia were invited to participate in the consultative meeting.
