Polls show slight lead of the ruling GERB for the EP elections

Two polling agencies on May 22 presented the results from their latest poll on voting intentions for the European elections. Both Trend and Market Links predict a slight lead for the ruling party GERB. Trend's survey was conducted from 11 to 17 May among 1,007 adult Bulgarians and was funded by the 24 Hours newspaper and Market Links poll was conducted from 11 to 19 May among 1,024 people and co-funded by bTV.

According to the Trend survey, GERB has stabilized and partially restored its support after the apartment scandals.

31.5% of voters say they will vote for the ruling party at the European elections. The poll puts the opposition "BSP for Bulgaria" in second place on 30.4% support. MRF firmly retains its third position with 12.8%, IMRO remains fourth - just on the edge of sending an MEP to EP - with 5.8% support, followed by "Volya" party, which raises its result to 4.8%. The poll shows no increase of the support for Democratic Bulgaria Association and according to Trend it still has 4.2% support and small chances to send a representative to the European Parliament.

30% of voters will indicates preferences, the survey shows, 39% of them will not.

According to Market Links, four parties will send representatives to the European Parliament. The poll puts GERB in the first place on 29.6% support, followed by BSP for Bulgaria - 27.5%, MRF – on 6.9% and IMRO by 5.7%. Democratic Bulgaria has 4.7% support from voters. "Volya" remains sixth on 2.9%.

The survey also shows that 42% of voters will vote in the election, likely to vote are 24% , 16% hesitate, likely to not vote - 6% and 13%. will not vote.
