PM: Hemus motorway between Varna and Targovishte will be ready by October 2020

By October next year, the section of Hemus motorway between Varna and Targovishte will be ready, which will make the trip to Sofia shorter by about an hour, Bulgaria’s Prime Minister Boyko Borissov said in the coastal city of Varna on May 21.

Together with Finance Minister Vladislav Goranov and Deputy Prime Minister Tomislav Donchev, Borissov visited the newly built temple "St. Procopius of Varna", for the completion of which the government will allocate BGN 1 mln.

The PM stressed that Hemus Motorway will be completed by 2022 and the funds for its construction are fully secured.

He explained that the money is 100% ensured in a separate account and payments will be made as soon as the activities are completed. So, within 3 to 4 years the stretches in worst condition, such as between Veliko Tarnovo and Targovishte, will be done. Targovishte section will be ready by October, November next year and the section between Sevlievo and Pleven will also be done. The other sections are already in a process of construction, he added.
