Prime Minister Boyko Borissov issued an order to release Deputy Minister of Energy Krasimir Purvanov from the post, the Council of Ministers said on 26th of March. The order for the release of of the deputy minister of youth and sports, Vanya Koleva, who also resigned over the apartment deals conroversy, was also signed.
Deputy Energy Minister Purvanov resigned this morning. His resignation is the latest in succession over apartment deals controversy following Justice Minister Tsetska Tsacheva's and Deputy Sports Minister Vanya Koleva's on 23rd of March.
Purvanov was named in media reports as one of the politicians who bought an apartment from Arteks company at below-market prices. According to the data, at the end of September 2018, he purchased an apartment of 150 square metres with two garages of 50 square metres for 240 000 BGN. Parvanov himself announced that he had not resigned under pressure.
In my capacity of an official and as a member of this government, I believe I have to leave the cabinet to prevent smear on me and my colleagues, he said.
