Parliament rejected Presidents veto on changes to Administrative Procedure Code

Bulgaria’s Parliament rejected the President's veto on changes to the Code of Administrative Procedure. On 13th of September, 146 MPs voted in favour of the re-adoption of the latest amendments to the law, 69 voted against.

In his reasons for the return of the law, the President pointed out that the drastic increase in fees in the cassation proceedings did not correspond to the economic situation and income in Bulgaria.

The opposition BSP said they would file a complaint with the Constitutional Court against the changes.

Majority partner in ruling coalition, GERB, commented that the texts were based on the principle of equality and that the fees are limited because there is a ceiling. Their arguments were supported by the United Patriots (minority partner in the ruling coalition), Movement for Rights and freedoms (MRF) and Volya party.
