OPINION POLL: FOUR BULGARIAN PARTIES TO PASS THE THRESHOLD IN THE EUROPEAN ELECTIONS

Four Bulgarian political parties would pass the threshold and secure representation in the European Parliament if the elections were today, according to the results of an opinion poll, presented by the Head of Mediana agency, Kolyo Kolev, on 8th April.

The public opinion research shows that the left-wing Bulgarian Socialist

Party (BSP) from the governing axis would collect the largest share of votes – 22%, followed by the right-wing former ruling party GERB with almost 20%, the centrist liberal ‘Movement for Rights and Freedoms’ (DPS) with 8,8% and the recently formed ‘Bulgaria without Censorship’ (BWS) would collect 7% of the votes.

In Bulgaria, the electoral threshold to enter the European Parliament  is 5,9% from the votes in the upcoming elections. For the time being, the opinion poll shows that the nationalist ‘National Front for the Salvation of Bulgaria’ (NFSB) would collect 4%, the centre- right electoral alliance ‘Reformist Bloc’ – 3,8%. The national citizens’ initiative ‘ABV”, would reach 3,7% and the nationalist ‘Ataka’ party – 2,5%.
