Ambassador of the Republic of Bulgaria to the Russian Federation Atanas Krustin was summoned on December 5 to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Moscow, where he was handed a note.
Through the note, referring to the principle of reciprocity, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation has declared a Bulgarian diplomat from the Bulgarian embassy in Moscow as persona non grata.
The Bulgarian diplomat has a rank equivalent to that of a Russian diplomat in Sofia, who was announced as a persona non grata at the end of October 2019.
The Bulgarian diplomat will leave the Russian Federation within the 24-hour period specified in the note.
