Svetoslav Malinov, a current Member of the European Parliament (MEP) from the Group of the European People’s Party, has filed a signal to the Prosecutor’s Office regarding the so called “Karadere development project”.
According to the allegation that Malinov submitted, the Minister of the Economy, Dragomir Stoynev, has violated the law on offshore companies, adopted a month ago, by supporting “Madara Europe” company, which intends to build a holiday resort complex in the Black Sea coastal area of Karadere.
According to the submitted signal, the company “Madara Europe” recorded its owners (individuals) in the Commercial Register five days after the Bulgarian government gave it the “priority investment status”.
The signal also says the law provides for offshore companies to be able to apply for the status of “Priority investment projects” only if before that they had recorded in the Commercial Register the individuals who are the actual owners.
Minister Dragomir Stoynev stated he was not worried about the Karadere case and would be glad if the Prosecutor’s Office dealt with the signal as quickly as possible.
