Kindergartens in the country re-open under strict anti-epidemic measures

After a long pause due to the coronavirus pandemic, kindergartens and nurseries in Bulgaria reopened, but under strict anti-epidemic measures and prepared a response protocol in case of coronavirus. In Sofia, nearly 12 000 parents this morning took their children to the kindergartens and 860 to the nurseries.

Directors are required to organise daily disinfection of playgrounds and 4 times a day disinfection of the premises. Every morning the children's health will be checked by the medical staff.

The deputy mayor of Sofia, Doncho Barbalov, assured that the maximum measures have been taken for the health and safety of children, parents and staff. He explained that the kindergartens have separate playgrounds for the different groups to avoid mixing of children.

Children with flu-like symptoms will not be allowed. The measures include separate entrances and exits, as well as preventing different groups from being in contact. In case of infection, only the group will be quarantined, not the whole kindergarten.

There are no carpets in the rooms, the number of children is the groups is less and the toys as well.
