Killer dogs' owner remains in custody
The owner of the 5 dogs that bited a 39-year man to death close to the village of Vlado Trichkov remains in custody. The court fears new crimes by Yordan Karagyozov.
It was heard in the court room that the defendant had been repeatedly warned to take measures against the aggressive dogs, but with no effect.
The defendant Yordan Karagyozov expressed his regret about the great tragedy.
He will face the court on alleged negligence leaving his dogs uncontrolled. If found guilty he may get up to 5 years in prison and up to NBG 10 000 fine.
"At this stage we claim that the defendant has been irresponsible", Prosecutor Borislava Barbolova told the press. However she refused to comment on the idleness of state institutions.
