Dance schools, theatres, operas re-open

Dance schools, theatres and operas can now operate indoors. This became clear after a meeting of representatives of the dance unions and the Union of Artists with the Ministers of Health Kiril Ananiev and of Culture Boil Banov on May 26.

All halls, gyms, private and state rehearsal premises, cultural centres’ stages and children's dance schools are allowed to re-open, but are required to strictly observe all anti-epidemic measures.

The dance halls are required to have no more than 20 people at a time at a distance of 4 metres from each other.

We are ready to comply with all measures that are prescribed to us, said Dzheilyan Demirev, head of the folk club Severnyatsite and a member of the Board of the Association of Choreographers in our country.

About 2 million people in Bulgaria go to dance lessons for relaxation, Demirev stressed.

The meeting was also attended by the chairman of the Union of Artists in Bulgaria Hristo Mutafchiev, who announced that the percentage of attendance in theatres in the open air increased to 50% and indoors - to 30%.

The order of the Minister of Health on the re-opening of dance halls and schools, operas and theatres is to be issued by the end of the day.
