Coronavirus in Bulgaria: Record high 182 new cases overnight, total is at 5497

One hundred and eighty two cases of coronavirus were confirmed in Bulgaria over the past 24 hours from 2538 PCR tests, the National Information system shows on July 4.

The latest cases are in the following districts: Blagoevgrad – 4; Bourgas - 1; Varna - 11; Veliko Turnovo – 10; Vdin – 1; Vratsa – 4; Gabrovo – 1; Kardzhali – 3; Kyustendil - 8; Pazardzhik – 7; Plovdiv - 22; Razgrad - 2; Sliven - 8; Smolyan - 7; Sofia district - 11; Sofia city - 69; Stara Zagora - 4; Targovishte – 4; Yambol – 1.

The total number of cases in the country to date is 5497.

The active cases are 2366.

The recoveries are 2892, including 90 over the past 24 hours.

445 medical professionals have tested positive for the virus, including 21 registered over the past 24 hours: 11 doctors, 8 nurses and 2 healthcare assistants.

The death toll is rising to 239 in total. Seven people diagnosed with Covid-19 died over the past 24 hours: a 52 year old man with no other illnesses; a 55 year old woman with pneumonia with no other illnesses; a 59 year old woman with asthma; a 21 year old man with serious congenital kidney disease; a 70 year old woman with diabetes and other underlying health conditions; a 49 year old man with heart disease and a 48 year old woman with heart disease and cancer.
