Coronavirus in Bulgaria: 65 new cases in 24 hours, total reaches 2069

Sixty five new cases of coronavirus were confirmed in Bulgaria for the past 24 hours, since 08:00 am on May 12, the secretary of the national task force said at the morning briefing on May 13. The results are from 1388 PCR tests.

This brings the total number of cases in the country to 2069.

The districts with active cases are 12.

Of the latest, 24 coronavirus cases were reported in Sofia, 8 in Blagoevgrad, 6 in Vidin, 6 in Yambol, 4 in Pleven, 4 in sliven,3 in Pazardzhik, 3 in Pernik, 2 in Plovdiv, 3 in Razgrad, 1 in Kyustendil and 1 in Rousse.

there are 9 new cases of children.

Seven more medical professionals tested positive for the virus: 3 doctors, 3 nurses and 1 healthcare assistant. Three of them are from Pazardzhik, two in Pleven, one in Plovdiv and one in Sliven.

The recovered persons for the past 24 hours are 23.

The total number of deaths is 96. Three more persons with Covid-19 died: a 43 year old man from Pazardzhik with underlying health conditions, an 83 year old woman died in hospital in Vratsa. She was from the old people’s home in the village of Kula. An 80 year old man died in Pirogov emergency hospital in Sofia.

365 persons diagnosed with Covid-19 are in hospitals, 51 of them in intensive care.
