Coronavirus in Bulgaria: 63 new cases confirmed, total is at 5740

Sixty three new cases of coronavirus were confirmed in Bulgaria over the past 24 hours from 923 PCR tests, the update on the national information system shows on July 6.

The latest cases were reported in the following regions: Blagoevgrad – 5; Varna - 2; Veliko Turnovo – 2; Gabrovo – 1; Kyustendil – 9; Pazardzhik – 5; Plovdiv – 5; Sliven – 1; Smolyan – 4; Sofia district – 6; Sofia city – 23.

The total-lab-confirmed cases in the country to date are at 5740. The active cases are 2579.

The recoveries are 2915, including 17 over the past 24 hours.

Out of the total, 458 people are in hospitals, 26 of them in intensive care.

The medical professionals who tested positive for the virus are 448, including two more cases of a doctor and a nurse over the past 24 hours.

The deaths of people who had a positive test result for Covid-19 are 246. The daily number of Covid-19 associated deaths is 5 people: an 83 year old woman with heart disease and neurogical condition; a 63 year old man with diabetes and heart condition; an 86 year old man with asthma and heart disease; a 47 year old man with no data for underlying health conditions; a 65 year old man with heart disease and other illnesses.
