Coalition council names Rossen Zhelyazkov as new minister of transport

The coalition council nominated Rossen Zhelyazkov for the post of the Minister of Transport after the previous nominee withdrew.

The decision was made in a meeting of the governing parties GERB and the United Patriots on 17th of September.

Rosen Zhelyazkov was Chief Secretary of the Council of Ministers in the first Borissov cabinet, then headed the e-governance, and is currently the head of the Communications Regulation Commission.

During the weekend, the Chair of GERB Parliamentary Group Tsvetan Tsvetanov said that the new Minister should be an expert with great experience and added that Rossen Zhelyazkov meets the requirements.

Another important issue that Tsvetan Tsvetanov and Volen Siderov noted after the coalition council was the problem with the yet unsigned decree for the release of the nominee for Interior Minister, Mladen Marinov, from the post of Chief Secretary of the Ministry of Interior.

It became clear from the President's words today that he has not yet signed this decree, and for that reason the coalition council has come to the conclusion that dialogue with the institutions is important and needs to be restored. Therefore, a proposal in writing will be sent to President Rumen Radev for a meeting between the Coalition Council and him in order to clarify all the unresolved issues.

Another important decision of the council was about raising the budget salaries by 10% as of 1 st of January.
