Bulgaria’s EU Commissioner Mariya Gabriel on November 21 was elected Vice-President of the European People's Party. At the party's congress in Zagreb, Europe's largest political family has elected ten deputies to Donald Tusk.
After electing a leader from the former Eastern Bloc for the first time in the history of the European People's Party, today a Bulgarian woman was elected one of the deputies, with the highest number of votes.
Another EU commissioner, the Austrian Johannes Hahn will also be Tusk's deputy.
Another famous name among the the deputies is the former Speaker of the European Parliament, the Italian Antonio Tajani, who is a member of Silvio Berlusconi's party.
