Bulgarian road hauliers hired an aircraft to travel for the protest tomorrow

Bulgarian road hauliers have already hired an aircraft to travel for the protest, which is scheduled to take place in Strasbourg tomorrow, 26th of March. Some 110 people will travel from Bulgaria. Three aircrafts will travel from Romania.

About 500 people are expected to gather in Strasbourg Square, the chair of the manegemetn board of the Union of International Carriers, Angel Trakov, told BNT.

Angel Trakov, Chair of the Management Board of the Union of International Carriers: The text that we are most concerned about is the return of the vehicle to the country of origin every 4 weeks. Everything else is a cost that further adds to the transport service, and it should be clear that it ultimately builds on the cost of each product. The cost does not bother us as much as the fact that Bulgaria is just geographically located away from the center of Europe and that creates a lot of discomfort.

On Monday, 25 March, MEPs decided to confirm the vote initially scheduled for Wednesday 27 March on the first mobility package (posting of drivers, driving time and rest periods, tachograph, cabotage and market access). Three Bulgarian MEPs were absent from the vote on the agenda.
