Bulgarian Red Cross delivers foods to people in need in Varna

The Bulgarian Red Cross on December 9 started delivering foods to people in need in the coastal city of Varna and the region. The products are provided under the European Material Assistance Program for Socially Disadvantaged People, with nearly 14,000 eligible for assistance.

The people in need in Varna, who will receive free food, have increased by nearly 15%. These include families who are eligible for heating benefits, mothers who adopted children, people with disabilities, and parents who have received a one-time first-aid grant.

The most vulnerable groups in Varna will receive nearly 25 kg of essential products - flour, rice, oil and canned food. Among them is Anna Christova, who has been unemployed for years. She says help is welcome before the holidays.

The delivery of food products will continue until February 28.
