Bulgarian President Radev postpones visit to Vatican
The visit of Bulgaria’s President Rumen Radev to the Vatican on the occasion of the solemn commemoration of the work of the holy brothers Cyril and Methodius and the Day of Bulgarian Education and Culture and the Slavic script has been postponed due to the situation in Italy caused by the coronavirus.
In the recent years, delegations from Bulgaria and the Republic of North Macedonia have established the practice of jointly paying tribute to the memory of St. Constantine-Cyril the Philosopher. The presidential institutions of the two countries agreed to seek a new date, suitable for both countries, on which the delegations from Bulgaria and the Republic of North Macedonia to jointly mark the work of the holy brothers Cyril and Methodius in Rome.
The visit of the delegations from Bulgaria and North Macedonia is expected to be in the second half of 2020, after specifying the date with the Vatican.
