Bulgarian Mariya Gabriel approved for second term as EU Commisioner

Bulgarian Commissioner-designate Mariya Gabriel on October 1 received the unanimous approval from the Committee on Culture and Education and the Committee on Industry, Research and Energy in the European Parliament.

She was interviewed last night, September 30, as a candidate for the position of Commissioner for Innovation and Youth and answered 50 questions.

After the procedure, MEP from various parliamentary groups expressed their satisfaction with the presentation of the Bulgarian Commissioner.

On October 17, a general vote is expected on the entire composition of the European Commission.

The European Parliament's overall assessment of the Commissioners-designate is expected on 17 October. The entire composition of the new European Commission is scheduled to be voted on by the MEPs in Strasbourg on 23 October.
