President of the EU Parliament Makes an Address to the Bulgarian Parliament

At an extraordinary sitting on 21st of November, the President of the European Parliament, Antonio Tajani, delivered a speech to the Bulgarian National Assembly. Guests to the event were ambassadors of the EU Member States and the countries of the Western Balkans, members of the EP's Conference of Presidents.

The Bulgarian Presidency can count on full support and cooperation from the European Parliament. the President of the European Parliament, Antonio Tajani, said in his address to the Bulgarian National Assembly.

According to him, the Bulgarian government's choice to hold a presidency open to the citizens is particularly appropriate.

Antonio Tajani congratulated the Bulgarian authorities for the progress made in the recent years. He noted that according to the latest EC report underthe Cooperation and Verification Mechanism, Bulgaria has made progress.

“I encourage you to follow this path,” the President of the EP said and noted that Bulgaria is a small country but with huge potential. Tajani pointed out that because of its external borders, Bulgaria is key for the European policy of cohesion, security and migration management.

The President of the EP concluded his speech by saying "United We Stand Strong” in Bulgarian language, as is the motto of the Bulgarian presidency of the Council of the EU.

Tajani’s address was broadcast live on BNT2. At 16.30, BNT2 will air the the discussion "Voice of the Young: What Europe We Want", held at Sofia University.
