9 Candidates for Becoming BNT’s New Director General

July 17, 5 pm, was the deadline for submitting documents for participation in the competition for the new Director General of the Bulgarian National Television. The Council for Electronic Media (CEM) will select the new Director General on August 23.

The former Director General of the Bulgarian National Radio Valeri Todorov, the former BNT finance and executive director, Toma Ivanov, the journalists Emil Koshlukov, Ivan Garelov, Konstantin Kamenarov, Sasho Yovkov, Stoil Roskev and Teodor Angelov are the candidates for the leading position of the public broadcaster. The engineer Radoslav Glavchev also applied to participate in the race.

On August 8, it will be clear which candidates will be admitted to paticipation in the procedure, and by August 17 - which of them will reach the hearing.

On 21 and 22 August, they will be able to present their concepts of BNT management, and on August 23, the Electronic Media Council will hold the vote. In order for one of the candidates to be elected, he must receive at least 3 of the five votes of the CEM members. If no one is elected at the first vote, two more will be held, every one hour within the same day.

Under the terms of the CEM, if no candidate is selected, the procedure shall be terminated.
