14 people monitored in Silistra for coronavirus

Currently in Silistra district, at the border with Romania, 14 people are being monitored for the new coronavirus Covid-19 for 14-day quarantine period. They have arrived from China, Italy and Thailand.

This was made clear at the first meeting of the Regional Crisis Staff against the coronavirus, held on February 28.

At this stage, Silistra border checkpoint does not have a permanent medical team, but doctors are seconded from the Romanian side of the border. If necessary, Bulgarian joint teams will also be employed, including doctors from the regional health inspections and hospitals in the area.

The Regional Office for Education announced that students' trips on projects in Italy have been canceled.

Groups of students from Italy will not be accepted either. There are no restrictions for other countries.

At a meeting this morning of the national crisis staff against coronavirus, experts said that there is no confirmed case of covid-19 so far in Bulgaria. Despite that, the Bulgarian Prime Minister convened the crisis staff to coordinate the actions of the state bodies concerning the measures undertaken so far.
